Workshop descriptions "A wonderful balance of: learning new stuff--learning about the countryside & the culture, practicing a new language, meeting new people & forming friendships and learning new things about myself. Don't change anything. The mix really works!" - former student		Glass Beadmaking This course will focus on Lampwork Beadmaking--using a flame to make one of a kind, glass beads. Beginning to advanced techniques will be explained and demonstrated, such as: clear casing, surface decoration, metal foils, glass frit and enamels, shaping large beads, lattichino, building simple murrine, and trouble shooting common mistakes and difficulties. Students will also be encouraged to concentrate on individual projects that can expand beyond beads into marbles, buttons and small sculptures. Experimentation will be strongly encouraged.
