Jean-Christophe Barré - Biography

The Active French School was created by Jean-Christophe Barré, a French native speaker born and raised in Normandy, France. Jean-Christophe studied in Caen earning his masters degree in both French Literature and Linguistics. He also earned a B.A. to teach French as a Second Language. For the past twenty years he has worked as a professor of French in several different schools throughout France.

Jean-Christophe has developed a specific ability to work with both adults and children. For eight years he has specialized in teaching French as a second language. He has held teaching positions in language schools in Paris and has also been a primary professor in intensive immersion programs for foreigners at the school of Créa-Langues, a famous language school located in Provence.

Jean-Christophe is now living in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and would like to share his rich experience as a professor with students in this area. Teaching is a wonderful way of sharing tastes, cultures, experiences and friendships. Active French School gives you "un avant goût" (a taste) of not only the French language but also the French culture. It is a great opportunity to get closer to France.
